Pray is a prayer journal, not a way for us to learn about you. What you write stays on your phone. The only thing we hold is the email address you left us for the launch. That is the whole policy; the rest of this page is the careful version of it.
Written in plain language, and accurate as far as we know, but not yet reviewed by a lawyer. A counsel-reviewed version will replace this one at the same address, and we will date the change.
Who we are
Pray is made by PastSunday LLC, a Missouri limited liability company in Farmington, Missouri, USA, doing business as PastSunday. For anything on this page, including a request to delete what we hold, write to us and a person will answer.

Your prayers stay on your phone
What you write in Pray is written to your own device. The prayers, the names in them, the verses you keep with them, the updates you add over months, whether something is still being prayed or has been answered, the line you breathe with, and the time you set your reminder for: all of it lives on your phone. There is no account to make and no password to pick, because there is nothing on our side to sign in to.
That is why the app can say it knows nothing about you. Not that we promise not to look, but that there is nothing here to look at. We could not hand your prayers to anyone, because we never received them.
The one thing we do hold
If you asked us to tell you when Pray lands, we kept the email address you typed, the date you gave it, and two technical details from that submission: the IP address it came from and the browser it was sent with. Those two exist to keep automated signups out of the list, and for nothing else. We did not ask for your name and we do not know it.
We will use that address for one thing: telling you when Pray is out. That is not a formula, it is the whole intended use. It is not sold, not rented, not handed to an advertiser, and not merged into a profile of you.
Who else touches it
The waitlist is a row in our own database, and only three services are anywhere near it. Fly.io hosts the site and that database. Cloudflare sits in front of the site as its proxy, which is why the IP address we record is the one Cloudflare passes us. Resend will deliver the launch email when there is one to send. Each sees only what its job requires, and none of them is given the list for their own purposes.
What we do not do
There are no third-party analytics on this page and no advertising pixels: no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no session replay. We do not track you across other sites. We do not count your prayers or score your consistency, which is a product decision before it is a privacy one, because a streak is a number that makes you feel watched.
Children
Pray is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13. Since the app asks for nothing and sends us nothing, there is no children's data for us to collect. If you believe a child has given us an email address, write to us and we will remove it.
Your rights over what we hold
Because the only thing we hold is your email address, your rights are simple to exercise. You can ask us what we have, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and we will do it. Deleting it means the row is gone, not hidden.
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, UK GDPR and the GDPR give you those rights formally: access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, and the right to object. Our lawful basis for holding your address is your consent, given when you submitted the form, and you can withdraw it at any time by asking us to remove you. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority, which in the UK is the Information Commissioner's Office.
Removing your data
Deleting the app from your phone deletes what you wrote in it. We hold no copy, so there is nothing on our side to delete with it, and nothing we could restore for you either. Keep anything you want to keep.
To come off the waitlist, write to pray@pastsunday.com and say so. You do not need to explain why, and the launch email will carry an unsubscribe link when it goes out.
If this ever changes
Pray is not out yet, and a future version could add something that genuinely needs to leave your phone, like syncing your prayers between your own devices. If that day comes, this page changes before that version ships, and it will say plainly what moved, where it went, and whether you have a choice about it. We would rather lose a feature than quietly redraw this line.
